Hunan Taste | 4 Alvin Place

On top of the full Chinese food menu, you’ve come to expect, Hunan Taste also has an entire menu of traditional dishes. Plus, the house specialties include a half or entire peking duck. Originating in NYC Chinatown in the 1970s, take-out from this restaurant is as classic as it gets.
Java Love Coffee Roasting Co. |244 Bellevue Avenue and 49 Church Street
Java Coffee Love is a women-owned coffee roasting company that serves up a fresh cup of Joe, from drip to espresso as well as baked treats. There is organic light roast coffee available. The team only works with coffee farmers who are Fair Trade certified as well as being members of the Rainforest Alliance. The coffee grains can be purchased online.
Montclair Brewery | 101 Walnut Street
The husband and wife duo formally established their business in 2014 and then moved this endeavor out of their home and into the microbrewery and tasting room space in 2018. Visit the brewery in person, opt for curbside pick-up, delivery, or grab some friends for a virtual tasting event.
Marcel | 631 1/2 Valley Road
The combination of baked goods, breakfast, bagels, sandwiches, soups, salads, and hummus plates would be enough, but add in the smoothies as well and Marcel will be your go-to for multiple meals a day. This Mediterranean bakery and kitchen deliver exactly what you need for breakfast and lunch.

Mesob serves up Ethiopian food that is appealing to vegans and meat-lovers alike. The sampler platters come with over six different types of meat or veggies per order served with injera (a sourdough bread), and delivery is a cinch as each item comes in its own separate container. Plus, Ethiopian food is meant to be eaten with your hands {which is half the fun}, so it’s one less utensil to clean up after.

If you haven’t found your go-to Indian takeout spot yet, add this new one to the list. Tamasha opened in February 2021 and is already making a name for itself in the local Indian food game. With a full menu including over 12 different naan bread, you’ll want to eat this one at home so you can crash on your couch feeling full immediately after.
