There’s nothing like watching 4th of July fireworks light up the sky in New Jersey on a warm summer evening, and celebrating the Fourth of July 2022 with fireworks is a favorite pastime in our area. Many towns in northern New Jersey will display a colorful 4th of July firework show in honor of the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence — including Montclair and other Essex County towns. There’s no need to travel far in New Jersey for July 4th this year — from Montclair to West Orange, Verona, Cedar Grove, and Millburn, we’ve rounded up the best spots in New Jersey where you can watch fireworks locally in 2022. Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Montclair + Bloomfield

Bloomfield/Montclair | Brookdale Park, Watchung + Bellevue Avenues  

Friday, July 1st | 7:30PM 

The Ivy at Chatham

Brookdale Park will be the center of the action for this Montclair/Bloomfield 4th of July celebration. The Infernos free concert will be the warm-up act, followed by the pop and crackle of fireworks at dusk.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Cedar Grove

Cedar Grove Fireworks Display | Panther Park, 118 W. Bradford Avenue, Cedar Grove

Thursday, June 30th | 7PM – 10PM

Gates open for this Cedar Grove display at 7PM. There will be music and ice cream along with the fireworks, though there’s no food or camping chairs permitted on the turf. In case of bad weather, there’s a rain date of July 1st, 2022. 

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Livingston

Livingston July 4th Celebration | Memorial Oval on Robert Harp Drive, Livingston

Monday, July 4th | 9AM – 11PM 

Livingston’s 4th of July celebration includes food trucks, arts, live music, and a car show. From 3:30PM – 4:30PM, there will be a performance by The Mountain Jam Band, an Allman Brothers Tribute. At 7:45PM, the Main Stage entertainment begins. Fireworks start at 9:15PM. Livingston is asking attendees to RSVP for free here.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Millburn + Short Hills

Millburn-Short Hills | Millburn High School Football Field, 462 Millburn Avenue, MIllburn

Monday, July 4 | 7PM – 9:30PM

A DJ will provide music, and food and ice cream trucks will provide sustenance while waiting for the fireworks to begin. Tickets are $10 per person, and you can click here to learn more.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Newark

Newark | Weequahic Park, Elizabeth and Meeker Avenues, Newark

Tuesday, June 28th | 7:30PM

Fourth of July comes a little early in Newark. On June 28th, there will be a Fireworks Spectacular show that will follow a free concert, Lady Supreme: A Diana Ross Experience.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Verona

Verona Fireworks | Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona

Friday, July 1st | 7PM

There will be a DJ at this Verona event who will start playing at 7PM. Fireworks will follow at dusk, at around 9:15PM. In case of bad weather, there’s a rain date of Tuesday, July 5th.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in West Orange

West Orange Independence Day Celebration | West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Avenue, West Orange

Monday, July 4th 

Attendees are invited to bring their own food, drink, and blanket, but no alcohol, glass bottles, or lawn chairs are permitted. You can bring your dogs to this event, if the fireworks won’t upset them, though they must be kept on their leash. The day will be filled with fun events before the fireworks. There will be a Food Truck Festival with 12 varieties of food, including seafood, tacos, ice cream, and vegan options from 1PM – 9PM. For the younger ones, there will be a Kid Zone with activities for different age groups 10 years and younger for $5 per child from 2PM – 6PM. A DJ will be playing from 2PM – 9PM, and the day will end with a fireworks display at dusk.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Allendale

Allendale Fireworks | Crestwood Lake & Park, Allendale

July 4th

This fireworks display at Crestwood Lake is open to Allendale residents and their guests only, and this event requires tickets. Fireworks will begin at 9PM. Cars will not be allowed into Crestwood Lake after 7:30 PM, and there will also be seating available on South Beach, Maple Avenue Field, & Kunisch Field.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn Fireworks | Memorial Park, 1st Street and Lambert Road, Fair Lawn

July 2nd

Fair Lawn will be hosting a fireworks show on Saturday, July 2nd at Memorial Park. This event opens at 6:45 PM and the fireworks will begin at 7PM. July 2nd

July 3rd

On Sunday, July 3rd from 6PM to 10:30PM, everyone is invited to come watch fireworks at the Cliff Gennarelli-Paramus Sports-Plex.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Ramsey

Ramsey Fireworks | Finch Park, 315 Island Road, Ramsey

July 1st

This event will be an Independence Day celebration followed by a fireworks show. It will be held at Finch Park from 5:00PM – 10:30PM on Friday, July 1st.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Ridgewood

Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration | Veteran’s Field, North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood

July 4th

Ridgewood will be hosting its 112th annual Fourth of July celebration. Gates open at 6PM, and there will be music, food trucks, and fireworks. Presale tickets are $12 for everybody or $16 for adults at the door. You can buy tickets here.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in Saddle Brook

Saddle Brook Picnic and Fireworks | Otto Pehle Park, Saddle River Road, Saddle Brook

July 2nd

Saddle Brook is hosting its annual picnic and fireworks event for residents only. The picnic will be from 12PM – 4PM, and fireworks will begin at dusk. There will be food, music, and rides to celebrate.

Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks in East Rutherford

State Fair Meadowlands | Metlife Stadium, 1 Metlife Stadium Drive, East Rutherford

July 3rd and 4th

Though this event is officially running for a full 18 days from June 23rd – July 10th, there will only be fireworks on July 3rd and 4th. There will be food, drinks, games, and even free entertainment this year. The fireworks will take place after dark + will be viewable anywhere on the fairgrounds.
